Holland Park is one of London’s most exclusive districts, situated in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The area has a timeless and global appeal for those looking to buy and rent beautiful property. A brief history
The district was rural until the 19th century and most of it used to be the grounds of a Jacobean mansion called Holland House. The house eventually sold off the outlying parts of its grounds for residential development and the area took its name from the house. In the late 19th century a group of famous artists and art collectors lived in the district and Holland Park became known for being very comfortable. This trend has continued and in recent decades, the area’s gone even more upmarket, with many celebrities living there, such as entrepreneur Richard Branson, pop Svengali Simon Cowell and Queen guitarist Brian May.
Holland Park is famous for its grand Victorian townhouses and has awe-inspiring architecture. Properties range from Grade II listed Stucco fronted buildings as well as cute mews houses, cottages and mansion blocks.

The green space factor is a major draw for those looking to live in the area. The main park includes formal gardens, a children’s play area and a café. Avondale Gardens is another park that offers facilities for children, as well as a small wildlife area.
Holland Park has a lot of great state schools for families looking to move to the area. For primary education, both St Francis Roman Catholic and Fox Primary are rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. When it comes to secondary, there are two Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ schools - Holland Park School and Cardinal Vaughan.
Private education includes Wetherby Prep, the Tabernacle School and Norland Place.

4. Try Julie’s Restaurant and Champagne Bar – popular with London’s trendy set. You can even drop your children off at the Sunday crèche – which is why it’s frequented by the area’s young families too.
